Grey Friday

robots&greenjeans

//wearing my green pantsĀ  & my robot shopping/swim bag from Jared because I needed something bright in my life. Listening to Solange because I needed something uptempo//

Is it grey or gray? I can never remember. Either way it was not sunny at all today. I accidentally slept in really late because I turned off my alarm and so my body didn’t recognize the time as day time.

piscine st D

I was feeling sluggish and sleepy but I promised myself that I would go swimming 3 times this week. Plus I really like swimming. So I packed myself up and went to the pool. The pool was packed but I still managed a good 30mins of laps. The city pools in Montreal are free and this one is less than a 10min walk from my house. I like a good free adult swim in the afternoon to make me feel like I’m taking care of myself. Its nice to have some quiet time with no screens and the only sound is people swimming. Gives me time to let my mind wander, or think of nothing in particular.

St hubertmaison d'italiegrey dayI took the long way home from the pool because it was nice out despite the grey/gray and took some pictures of my beloved neighbourhood to remind myself that it can be beautiful in the winter too.

granola

Afternoon snack of my homemade granola with yogurt and a boozy bourbon marmalade by Silvie to finish off my little time off and now back to work on looking for work. At least with a fresh mind and stretched out body.

Happy friday everyone.

Small Things Project: Day 71 (oct 10)

Its 7am on Oct 11 and I’ve barely slept so I think its fine to submit this SMP post for yesterday.
I was happy yesterday for a grey, rainy, get things done at work day. I was happy for the amount of work I have these days, even if sometimes I don’t have enough time to do it all. From work to, a contract meeting, to a TA meeting, to office hours with students, and back to work less than a day is a lot. But its affording me the financial flexibility I’ve been needing so I’m happy. I’m not rolling in cash, but I’m a helluva lot more stable now, aka: less rice and beans!
I’m happy for good talks with M and my clean, warm apartment to come home to at night.

fine weather

I’ve been sick. Not serious sick. Just flu-ish. Like do the dishes and then take a break on the couch because I’m out of energy sick. I don’t really know what’s been keeping me busy otherwise. I feel like I’ve been busy but I can’t actually remember what I’ve been doing. I have a sneaking suspicion that its been a lot of being out late with Marseau, which accounts for the sleep-ins and (probably) the sickness.

I think I’m coming out the other side of it though. Other than constantly having to blow my nose I’m feeling good and energetic again. I even went to the gym yesterday! I’ve been blowing through to do’s on the wedding list, applied to like 7 jobs yesterday, did laundry, cleaned the bathroom, de-junked the office, even started prepping the balcony for planting! God I love spring/summer/fall. I can’t wait to have a bunch of plants doing their thing outside. I made spring official and took the duvet off the bed today too, in my getting rid of the sheets that I spent laying about in while sick cleaning. And with all that I’m back on the blog! So here is a post, and some pictures of the truly wonderful walk I took with Silvie’s dog Josie down the alleys of the neighbourhood today. I think it was by far the best part of my day. Josie is so great, I can let her off leash in the alleys and we can just stroll, she never goes too far and always waits up.
